    LATEST TECHNOLOGY TRENDS IN 2019


    Technology is the word we hear day and day out as well as the sentence 'It has changed a lot'. Indeed it has changed a lot in recent times and evolving faster than ever. The things which we do in everyday life are related to Technology. It is now evolving so rapidly that recent innovations seem to be much older than time. 


    Take the example of a mobile phone for that matter, the one which you brought six months ago seems to be quite old because every alternate day the new phones are coming with new feature and technology. The pace in which technology is moving forward that an annual prediction of trends can seem out-of-date before this post/article actually reaches you. 

    Technology has deployed everywhere in human life. We have got used to it, in such a way that, life without technological things is unimaginable. Imagine what happened, if your electric power supply has stopped in the hot summer! 

    Here I am discussing the latest trends in technology you should watch for in 2019, and their impact on current employment as well as the future opportunities for skilled professionals.

    1. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) 

    Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the latest and greatest technological innovation in recent years. Wait, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) was founded as an academic discipline in 1956, due to a lack of funding that failed to continue. Even though the Artificial Intelligence is still in its early stages. 


    AI can be referred to as machine intelligence, much like natural intelligence displayed by humans. Artificial Intelligence is a computer system developed to mimic human intelligence and to perform tasks like recognition of images, speech or patterns, and decision making faster and more accurately than humans. 


    Artificial Intelligence effects on how we live, work and play are only in the early stages.  It is now everywhere from right from smartphones personal assistants and camera apps, home personal assistant, ride-sharing, smart home devices, streaming services, and navigation apps. In addition to that, it also used in automobiles - autopilot mode, climate control, etc. It will deploy everywhere there is a computer system and work is involved. 


    According to one study, five out of six Americans use AI services. It is just a beginning and many more Artificial Intelligence things are yet to be seen. Thus the opportunity in this field is massive. The experts predict that employment in AI will number 23 million by 2020. It will create jobs in development, programming, support, maintenance, and testing. 



    2. MACHINE LEARNING


    Machine Learning is a branch of AI, in which computer programmed to learn to do things, they are not programmed to do. This can further be specified as the computer program is designed in such a way that it will learn over time through the input given by the users and do the task on the behalf of the users. 


    Machine Learning learn by discovering patterns and insight from data. There are two types of machine learning, supervised and unsupervised. Under the machine learning, we have three subsets, neural networks, natural language processing (NLP), and deep learning.  Each of these is a specialized subject and can help to generate jobs for skilled professionals. 


    Typical examples of machine learning are image recognition and Voice recognition. The use of machine learning is everywhere from the gadgets we use, the web search results, real-time ads to data mining, data analytics, and pattern recognition to name few. 


    The opportunity in the machine learning field is huge, and it tops the chart of top emerging jobs on LinkedIn. So one who thinking of getting into this field is the right time to do. 



    3. ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION or RPA


    According to UIPath.com the definition of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is as follow - 

    Robotic Process Automation is the technology that allows anyone today to configure computer software, or a “robot” to emulate and integrate the actions of a human interacting within digital systems to execute a business process. RPA robots utilize the user interface to capture data and manipulate applications just like humans do. They interpret, trigger responses and communicate with other systems in order to perform on a vast variety of repetitive tasks. Only substantially better: an RPA software robot never sleeps, makes zero mistakes and costs a lot less than an employee.
    Robotic Process Automation is the process of automating the daily routine and repetitive tasks. Desk jobs are a prime example of daily routine and repetitive tasks. Such jobs required a lot of manpower, resulting in a fixed salary to each and everyone and the chances of inaccuracies are high, due to human interventions. By adopting an RPA can reduce the cost of employee salary and eliminate the threat of errors mistakes.

    Robotic Process Automation is widely used in all types of industry, majorly in the e-Commerce sector, where the online ordering process has been taken care of by Robotic Process Automation. 



    4. BLOCKCHAIN


    There are a lot of misconceptions about Blockchain and People are directly relating it with Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoins. The main purpose of Blockchain is the security of data and hence it is been used in the mining process of cryptocurrencies. The term blockchain can be described as you can only add data and cannot remove or take away. That is why the term "chain" since your making chain of data. Where previous blocks (Data) cannot be changed. That makes Blockchain a more secure way for data mining and other processes. 


    The best part about blockchain is there no transaction cost but an infrastructure cost. With blockchain, information passes from A to B in a fully automated and safe manner. The transaction is initiated when one party processes by creating a block. The created blocks will then verified by thousands, perhaps millions of computers on the internet. Once the block is verified it gets added to the chain and stored all over the internet creating unique records with a unique history. 



    5. AUGMENTED REALITY & VIRTUAL REALITY 


    Augmented Reality and Virtual reality are two different technologies yet people sometimes considered it as the same thing. Remember in 2016 Niantic game that shakes up an entire industry, Pokemon Go? That was the game built using Augmented Reality. It was a location-based game and doesn't require any interface as such. It uses the surrounding of the users with the help of the Camera app and creates a natural in fact real gaming interface by adding layers on the top of the interface. 


    On the other hand, Virtual Reality uses computer technology to create a simulated environment. Take the example of any game for that matter. When using Virtual Reality you see the things which are not in front of you but still it will feel like you are in there. 



    6. INTERNET OF THINGS


    Internet is a network of computer devices connected to each other, it is a globally interconnected system and anything that is connected to the internet is called the Internet of Things


    Internet is being used widely and all the devices now come with the built-in Wi-Fi technology for internet connectivity. Everything that is connected to the internet and each other called the Internet of Things. The time has gone when the internet was only connected to the Computers, now its everywhere in every electronic device as well as automobiles and many others. Hence IoT is the future going forward and it is the trend that will always be there. 


    With an LoT, we can control things remotely like smart homes, smart cars, etc. LoT not just benefiting the consumer, it has brought drastic changes in business as well. The LoT is the backbone of all the technology, without it, no one can perform their intended tasks.
